What Factors Affect the Electrostatic Air Cleaner Service Rate?

What Factors Affect the Electrostatic Air Cleaner Service Rate

Our pricing for electrostatic service varies widely and is dependent on many factors.

Commercial Location: We charge a higher rate to commercial customers like restaurants and cigar bars because the filtration equipment is usually more challenging to access. Parking is more difficult with our service trucks; often, there are elevators and stairs that our technicians need to navigate with the bulky collection cells, and sometimes, our technicians must move furniture to access the equipment. Combining these factors causes servicing the same type of equipment to take a significant amount of more time in a commercial vs. an industrial setting.

Difficult Access: Another factor we consider is what is needed to access the equipment. If ladders or scissor lifts are required, if machinery routinely needs to be moved, or if the equipment is on a mezzanine or a long distance from where we park.

Types of equipment: The make and model of your air cleaners can be the reason for a different price per cell because some types of equipment are easier to work on. MistBusters and TriMists have light, easy-to-handle cells, but they also wear out sooner than some of the larger styles of electrostatic air cleaners, which causes them to need repair or replacement more frequently. Some models of Trions have very large cells that require two people to move them in and out of the air cleaner. The age of the equipment can also factor into it because some of the older filtration systems can be much more difficult to work with.

Quantity of Equipment and Distance: The distance from one of our service centers and the amount of air cleaners you have are the two most important factors regarding price. Obviously, the closer you are and the more filters you have, the less travel cost is associated with each filter, bringing the average price per cell down.

Rental Equipment: If a scissors lift or other equipment is needed to effectively service your air filtration equipment and is unavailable at your location, we will bring our own. Bee Clean does not build this charge into the cost per cell, but instead, we add it as a separate charge.

Difficulty to Clean: Some pollutants are more challenging to clean than others. Sometimes, we have to run the cells and ionizers through our conveyor washer multiple times or use a hot soak tank before putting them into the conveyor washer. This extra difficulty is taken into account when developing our price per cell. Some of the processes that are difficult to clean are charcoal or wood smoke, some types of plastics or rubber, and heat treatment.

Special Requirements:

Scheduling: Another factor that helps us determine our price per cell is how you prefer to have us schedule our service. Some customers have us just come out on a predetermined basis, some have us reach out a week or so in advance and decide on a day that works best, and some customers only call in when they think service is needed.

Payment Terms: If you require extended terms or are consistently paying invoices past due, we will consider that when calculating your service cost.

Signing In: One final item we consider when calculating our service cost is If our technicians are required to sign in when they arrive, and it consistently takes a long time to track down the contact needed to sign them in.
